Nasca - Lima (bus) Last day! It's expensive

And now, our bike trip ended after 50km Nazca. We did not ride on the Pan American for several reasons:

  • too many buses and trucks, making the road stressful despite the low side (poor condition);
  • heat: 35 ° C in the shade and the shadow there is no road
  • the landscape consists of desert sand, stones hundreds of miles and that makes the monotonous route although we love the desert

For our last day in cycling we got up very early (5am) to avoid the heat and so see the Nasca lines located 30km away. On the road, the Peruvians have built a watchtower to see three figures of the lines: the hand, and the tree lizard (about him almost erased)

A Palpa we took the bus to Ica. We have been helped by a guy. In fact, not easy to take a bus flying with bikes. The drivers are not very eager and caregivers. Our "help" was the forcing of taking a bike and opening the cargo bay of the bus. Without him, we would have waited an eternity before being caught. In any case, we generously rewarded. In Ica we took another bus (stop) to Pisco. Didier wanted to reach the sea but cycling I did not want to ride. It would have been better though, because either the bus or out of it, the result is the same, it has been stolen our camera, GPS and our money! Yet we are still cautious. I believe that the passenger sitting behind my seat to take our "purse from under my seat. Fortunately we regularly download the pictures on our computer, only those three days are lost.

In addition to being robbed on a bus where we would never have been, Pisco no longer looks like nothing because the city was flattened by an earthquake ... When to the beach is junk land ... Nice place to relax! short, furious.

In Pisco, we still help by another guy to take the bus to Lima. He also did the forcing. The driver would not open an empty cargo bay. On the whole bus ride, it was only desert. Amazing, I had no idea that Lima was surrounded by a desert.

We had a week to "lose" in Lima that we split into two parts. The first two days (Friday and Saturday), we stayed downtown at the Hostal España highly recommended. It is a colonial building full of paintings and sculptures. From our room (tiny) we have a view over the rooftops of Lima. Not bad and cheap. Two days was enough to visit downtown and its colonial buildings. The restaurants are two times more expensive than what we used and I am disappointed by their lack of charm. Cusco is better.

Saturday night, I stuck a nerve in the shoulder, I very badly but it didn not prevent him from taking the road to Miraflores. It was pretty easy because it is Sunday and in addition there was a cycle track on a good part of the journey. Arriving at the end of this track, we came upon a group of cyclists who were preparing to leave for a tour. It was bent right through the shoot and some questions.

Having toured the hotel, we chose the Friend House, a small hotel with few rooms where you can finally cook ... This is the guesthouse of the Peace Corps (American volunteers who go on mission two years). It is unfortunate that there have no other tourists with whom to share our memories.

Miraflores, another world, much of''white''and people easier. It is no longer dock in the street at every turn by beggars, vendors and touts. In fact it is almost like Europe. We are also a few meters from the cliffs overlooking the beach. On the whole length of these cliffs there is a park, very close but it looks really nice.

We enjoy the last few days to go running and swimming. The temperature of the water is excellent with beautiful waves. This is an opportunity to take a surfing lesson. The catch? Didier and I are lame: I always find it difficult to shoulder and Didier has a sore knee after running twice. We can not find boxes for our bikes, we must say that there are only two bike shops in Miraflores. In one of them was a box well, dirty and full of holes,''that''honest trader tried to sell us ... We finally found for fridge boxes on a heap of rubbish from one site. We started by cleaning out the boxes ... then set folding and cuts to make beautiful boxes bicycle. For the last day, making our bags one last meal at a popular restaurant, walking in the neighborhood to see the sea and we got into a taxi. We have not even had to negotiate the price, our host called a taxi honest did not even ask a higher price for our bikes. Suddenly, we were generous in allowing him 5 soles a tip (of a race of 35 soles ...) The registration went smoothly as well, the price € 80 per bike was almost right, we just added taxes ... By cons, we decided to eat something once in the boarding area. Double error; there was only one restaurant and a snack (when there were more choices in the public area) and the prices were apparently slightly more expensive than in town. Slightly? Only at first glance, in fact they were in dollars! The price of a bottle of water in town: 1 Floor (25cent) to airport: $ 5 (4 €)! Finally, we spent our last soles in cookies and a bottle of Pisco ...

    Friday

last day on the skis and the sun was at the rendezvous. Makes you wonder how snow can take on songs by such heat. Scarves and hats that were welcome in the preceding days we seemed very cumbersome today.
Who said the last day, said test day! And it worked out well passé.On'll talk on Sunday morning at the medal ceremony at the town hall.

afternoon, we skied in schools, whatever our level of skiing. It was very nice to meet all our class and our teacher on skis.

By late afternoon, we went to visit the town of Embrun.

But what is expected most is what the ancients have described as the essential moment of the stay, ie, the boom on Friday night!

    tell you that tomorrow morning
meantime, we hope to send you some videos of our exploits on the slopes!

we still send mails (14 hours before Saturday)

Beautiful sunny day this Thursday, which contrasts with the rest of France if we ' refers to the cards with the weather on television.
On Thursday morning we had our usual course with instructors from the ski school
SFS. For many of us the "plow" is a distant memory and has been replaced by "parallel skis.

Afternoon we shoeless our skis to see the magnificent scenery from the top station at more than 2600 m. We found ourselves in a setting "all white" since there are vast tracks of competitions (The Pousterle La Lequeue), then we have skied with our teachers and chaperones.

    Tonight is the evening movie.

thank you for your many emails you are kisses

    Scholarships Stepmoms

    This Thursday Wednesday Tuesday

We are in the middle of the stay and as the statistics prove it is better to be cautious on the third day of skiing
Reason why some have opted to walk morning and skiing in the afternoon. What is not so bad to enjoy nature and the beautiful scenery of the snowy mountains and sunny.

The bravest have skied on them all day.

But the skiing today, it was not with ESF instructors but with our teachers and chaperones.

Well, then, finally, too, they would not do too badly!
We had already noticed that the level of raids ... aperitifs and digestifs, it was not bad ... and good for the blue and red runs, it holds the road too!

As for physical cons, you presented the ESF instructors and there by cons ... no Camera!

More seriously and to our advantage, we were pleased with the progress we have made in just three days!

Tonight evening fairly quiet as fatigue is felt for all: the "evening song"

You put a slide show of pictures on the snow front. You can click on the photo for a bigger size.

    thank you for your email

Second day of skiing, and you begin to gain confidence on the slopes! It's crazy
progress that can be done in so little time! If we were told yesterday morning that we would have taken the chairlift and down the track you can see on the webcam, we never would have imagined. Yet we did!

At the ambiance is great! we all know now: we had schools Wodecq, or Lahamaide Ellezelles!

the weather, playing hide and seek between the sun and white clouds, but not a snowflake or a raindrop.

On the mails you send us, you can specify the name of the student to whom you send the mail.

At the phone on Tuesday, call students from the school of the French Community of Ellezelles and students of the school free of Lahamaide.

Tomorrow Wednesday will be the turn of students of the local school and school Wodecq free Ellezelles.

    this Monday, March 8

we get up Monday morning with a feeling somewhat unusual for a Monday morning. Monday is a school, and yet it is very special! We have a special thought for our brothers and sisters who during the week.

Our teachers and coaches tell us to feel the same in respect of their colleagues remained in Belgium

the weather, despite the very pessimistic that we expected after the television news Sunday night, the sky was particularly sunny on Monday on the field of Orres.

First day of skiing and first encounter with our ski instructors of the ESF, which are particularly nice.

We send you pictures tomorrow because we having some computer problems today

Where To Buy Monica Roccaforte Movies

this Sunday, March 7 in the evening ...

    We're finally installed properly!

As you can see from the photos, either in rooms or cottages, the night we'll go will probably be more comfortable in our cozy bed as well in the bus that night.

Although ... for the atmosphere that night ... the bus will remain unforgettable! They are funny

these teachers, they told us to sleep, but they forgot what was expected this moment with impatience!

Day "light" for the day of arrival.

We first discovered the Val Ubaye took our breakfast buffet and then go on location to take possession of our ski equipment (boots, skis ,...). It is from this moment we find similarities with Josiane Balasko in "Bronzés are skiing" and wondered whether it would be better to keep his shoes on all night to be at home tomorrow morning!.

afternoon, we discovered the village of Baratier

Tonight workshop postcards, and then ... sleeping ... finally!

    you kisses!
